Itinerary
This 4-day tour to Zagora & Erg Chegaga desert from Marrakech starts with a pickup from your accommodation at 8 AM by an air-conditioner and comfortable vehicle to drive you to discover the Tichka Pass (2260 meters above sea level) and its magical landscapes towards the South. Afternoon continuation towards Zagora. We cross the Little Atlas Mountains by the Tizi N’Tanifeft pass (1660 meters above sea level). Arrive in Agdez to take the track that leads to the kasbah of Alkaid Ali Tamnougale. Visit the Kasbah. We take the track through the Draa Valley and the sublime palm groves and ksour to Zagora. Overnight and accommodation with dinner and breakfast in a guest house, riad, or hotel.
After breakfast in your accommodation, we will head to Amezrou to visit the old Kasbah of Jews that makes jewels. Then depart to Tamegroute to visit the Koranic library and the manufacture of green pottery, the underground kasbah. Lunch in Mhamid, then Departure in the vehicle by a sandy track with a small stop at the hamada of Draa to see the fossils, pursuit to arrive at the dunes of Chegaga. Promenade in Dromedary, watch the sunset over the dunes, enjoy music folklore at night under the stars in a Saharan desert camp, and spend an overnight with dinner and breakfast in a Saharan desert Beber tent situated at the feet of the dunes.
NB: If you book a luxury tour, then, you will have breakfast and shower at the desert camp, otherwise, the breakfast and the shower will be at the hotel after your camel rides back in the morning.
Early wake up in the morning to enjoy a spectacular sunrise over the golden dunes of Erg Chegaga and enjoy also a typical breakfast in a Berber tent. then, meet your driver/guide for a new journey back to Ouarzazate, Departure for Foum Zguid with the possibility of a visit to the nomads, passage to Lake Iriqui, and the desert plateau dotted with acacias, Picnic in an Oasis for lunch, our journey continues via Taznakhte, arriving in Ouarzazate in the evening. Overnight and accommodation with dinner and breakfast in a guest house, riad, or hotel.
After breakfast depart for the visit to Ouarzazate: the Kasbah of Taourirt, the movie studios, then towards Ait Ben Haddou, lunch on the spot, afternoon visit of the Ksar classified with the world inheritance of UNESCO. We take the road through the village of Merzgane and the village of Ighrem, with a small stop at Tadarte. Then cross the road to Marrakech crossing the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, Arrive in Marrakech in the evening around 6 or 7 PM, this desert tour ends with drop-off at your accommodation in Marrakech.
