Itinerary
This excursion starts with a pickup from your accommodation in Marrakech at 8 AM by an air-conditioner and comfortable vehicle to drive you to the southern slopes of the High Atlas on the road you will make stops to take some memorable photos and admire the landscapes of the Tizi N’Tichka pass (2260 m) in the high atlas mountains, and the highlands of the Berber villages with houses made from mud and straw. Afterward, we drive along a windy road to explore the salty valley of Ounila. Before we get to Ait Ben Haddou we will stop to visit the ancient kasbah of Glaoui, the village of Telouet, for information Ait Benhaddou is a fortress made of a group of Kasbahs, it has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage listing since 1987 and home of about 8 families who are still living in the old part of the Ksar, it is also the decor and background of many Hollywood blockbusters which were shot there such as Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and the Kingdom of Heaven, etc. Once we are there you either have lunch first or take a guided walk of the ancient settlement, cross the dry river to get to the hill’s top for the magnificent views and dominate the kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, you will learn about the Berbers and their culture. After that we take the road back to Marrakech, this excursion ends with drop-off at your accommodation in town approximately at 07:00 PM.
